Google Home Review
Google Home is an extension of Google’s huge umbrella of services. With this, you can easily voice control the smart devices of your home and make other requests to be executed over Chromecast devices.
The app is powered by Google Assistant; and just like you can make commands and get your tasks done over your assistant in your smartphone, you can do the same with Google Home as well. In this case, the scope is larger, as you can connect with the Smart TVs, thermostats, Chromecast devices – all just with a few voices commands.
There are many activities that can be done with the help of Google Home. It answers your questions directly from the Google, gives you weather updates on request, provides with the latest news on any topic you want for and many such tasks on a daily basis.
User Interface 8/10
Like every device and platform of Google, this one is very easy to manage and use. It responds immediately to your voice displaying the closest and most accurate possible results to your request or query. It basically brings under one app all the services of Google – Play Music, Play Movies, Google Audio Books, YouTube and all other media devices and others as well like Netflix or Prime Video on mentioning the specific.
Google Home is basically like a real-life assistant who would answer your questions or play a song if you requested. Once a smart device is added to Google app, you can control it by mere commanding of voice. You can give orders like “Play My Mix from YouTube” or “Stream Narcos on Netflix” and the speakers or TVs linked to the app or Chromecast devices will do the same for you. You can change the show or control volumes with it as well.
Google has permeated our lives in such a way, that we are more accustomed to using Google devices and apps than any other equipment in our home. Moreover, the whole point of Google Home is ease of usability with voice controls and simple commands, so that you can get things done without much effort. And Google Home does it quite well.
App’s performance 8/10
The app has been performing well, except a few technical glitches here and there. Sometimes the app keeps disconnecting, at other times or does not connect to particular smart devices that it should. But otherwise, it works fine.
Google Home is compatible with Android devices 4.0.3 and above that. Most smart devices and Chromecast devices are supposed to be able to link.
The bottom line is Google Home is exactly what it sounds like, Google in your home. Google is all about the familiarity and assistance that provided across all your devices in a synced manner. The Home app simply crosses the barriers of the handheld devices and reaches your home TV and speakers.
